Actor Sushant Singh Rajput will be depicting the role of one of India’s most successful cricket captain – Mahendra Singh Dhoni in latter’s biopic, ‘MS Dhoni – The Untold Story’. The actor says he found it difficult to read the captain’s mind. The ‘Kai Po Che’ actor confessed that it is quite impossible to understand the Indian skipper’s frame of mind, as he prefers to keep his thoughts to himself.
Sushant Singh Rajput said, “More than his cricketing skill, it is difficult to understand him as a person. The hardest part was to understand how he is calm from the outside, but there are so many things going on in his head. What is his thought process like? His mindset? I spent hours watching M.S., talking to him, knowing him. Then I sat with Neeraj [Pandey, director] sir. I hope M.S. likes it and everybody gets to know the real story.”
He further added that, “Before playing a fictional or real character, the most important part is to convince yourself that you are the character. If you have such a strong thought process like Dhoni, then regardless of where you come from, you will make it in life.”
Sushant has worked hard to get the right looks and for the past two years has been preparing for the movie. To get right Dhoni’s trademark moves he also trained under Kiran More, an Indian ex-wicketkeeper. He also perfected the very famous Helicopter shot for which Mahi is known for.
The trailer of ‘MS Dhoni – The Untold Story’ was launched by Captain Cool at the Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar. The movie will release in theaters on September 30.
