Sushant Singh Rajput will train in boxing for his next biopic that is based on the life of Murlikant Petkar — India’s first Paralympics gold medalist. This is not the first time that Sushant is learning the intricacies of a sport. The actor who will be depicting the titular role of Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the upcoming biopic on the cricket world’s superhero, had undertaken training in cricket for the film too.
Sushant seems to be following the footsteps of Sidharth Malhotra who is learning Krav Maga and Judo for his upcoming film. He will be going to Bhiwani Boxing Club, to learn the art of boxing where renowned sportsmen such as Akhil Kumar and Vijender Singh had also trained in the past.
Murlikant Petkar, an Indian Army jawan, was a boxer who sustained severe bullet injuries during the 1965 War against Pakistan. After he was crippled, he switched to swimming and other sports and also participated in table tennis at the 1968 Paralympic games and cleared the first round. He also won 4 medals in international events in swimming.
Sushant Singh Rajput is currently in Budapest, shooting for ‘Raabta’ with Kriti Sanon.
