Swara Bhaskar to act in an upcoming web series

Actress Swara Bhaskar, who garnered critical acclaim with her performance in ‘Nil Battey Sannata’, is soon to join an upcoming web series titled ‘It’s Not That Simple’. Swara says she plays in it an all new kind of character, something she has never tried her hands on before.

“‘It’s Not That Simple’ is a wonderful and fresh concept. It’s daring and yet intimate, pushing the boundaries and yet relatable and real. I play a character that I’ve never played before. Audiences will see me in a never-seen-before sort of avatar,” she said.

With every passing day, web series are witnessing a growing popularity, along with established names of Bollywood joining the league.

“Media is changing rapidly as are viewers’ habits of content consumption. The digital space is really the new ‘circus ring’ so to speak, where all the new and innovative action is taking place. I wanted to explore this medium as well. “It is a new platform for me to reach my audience. It’s also where new and interesting content is being created,” the ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ actress added.

The six-episode series will be directed by Danish Aslam and will be aired on Voot.

Apart from this, Swara is set to join writer Aditya Kripalani’s directorial debut ‘Tikli and Laxmi Bomb’ where she will be essaying a s*x worker’s character.
