Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Queen’ is still considered as one of her best performances till date. Kangana garnered accolades for her role of an innocent, homely girl going on her honeymoon alone, after being jilted at the altar, in this 2013 release.
The Vikas Bahl directorial was also a sleeper hit at the box-office and this is the reason, it is soon to get a Tamil version. After four years of its release, the movie will be remade in Tamil and as per reports, actress Tamannaah Bhatia will play the role played by Kangana, in the Tamil remake.
Speaking about the same, Tamannaah said, “Ever since I saw ‘Queen’, I wanted to be a part of its remake. What makes the film special is that it’s one of those rare women-centric films which succeeded in reaching out to everybody, across all sections of the audience.”
“I felt liberated when I saw ‘Queen’, and I can’t wait to start working on the remake. The fact that Revathi ma’am is directing it makes it even more special,” she said further.
The Tamil remake will be directed by actor-filmmaker Revathi who has directed many women-centric films in the past, like the much acclaimed ‘Phir Milenge’. Actor-filmmaker Suhasini Mani Ratnam will be writing the dialogues of the film.
