This is what Madhuri Dixit has to say about her reference in Sanjay Dutt’s biopic

Actors Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit worked in several movies in the early 90s and they were even seeing each other at some point of time. But they broke up soon after his TADA arrest in 1993. Madhuri had even made an announcement back then, stating that they were not involved. Well, that’s a thing of the past, but now as a biopic is being made on Mr Dutt’s life, there were reports that Madhuri called up filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani asking him to delete all references to her in the movie. But Madhuri has quashed these reports by calling the topic redundant. Speaking to a tabloid, she said, “For where I am today, this (the topic of Dutt) has become redundant. Life has come a long way since then. I don’t know where these reports are coming from. In any case, it doesn’t make a difference to me.”

While, some reports suggest that Hirani has agreed upon her request and removed any mention of her in the movie. Also, there was a strong buzz that Karishma Tanna would play the role modelled on Madhuri Dixit, but later it was clarified that Sonam Kapoor’s role would be a mixture of Sanjay Dutt’s love affairs in the past.
