Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor has recently embraced parenthood through IVF (In Vitro fertilization) technology and is a proud father now. However, he says his parents were kind of apprehensive about him going public about it and letting people know that the child was born through IVF.
“Initially my parents were a little bit apprehensive whether I should announce the child to be one born through IVF and surrogacy or not. Because they were like ‘You don’t know how it is going to be taken in India, why even announce it, why don’t you just tell friends, then the friends will tell more friends,” Tusshar told the press.
“Everybody in the country has been very accepting. That was a bit surprise for me because I thought there would be diverse views, some kind of ‘oohs and ahas’ about it, all kinds of opinion. But nothing of that sort happened. Especially the media has been so supportive of Laksshya and my choice of having a family in this manner,” he added.
Tusshar, who became father of son Laksshya in the month of June was attending an Independence Day special event organised by Jaslok Hospital where the agenda was to raise awareness about IVF. Attaining parenthood through other scientific methods is yet subject to many social taboos and this is surely a welcome step.
We wish you a happy and fulfilling time ahead, Tusshar!
