‘Udta Punjab’: Check out Diljit Dosanjh as a tough cop in this new still

If the first poster of ‘Udta Punjab‘ gave us goosebumps, the makers have now released another power packed poster of the film. Shahid Kapoor has wowed us with his grungy look as Tommy – the Rockstar in the first poster of the upcoming release. The new poster introduces Punjabi sensation Diljit Dosanjh as the tough cop, Sartaj Singh. He will make Tommy aka Shahid’s life difficult in the Abhishek Chaubey directorial that also stars Kareena Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles.

Diljit Dosanjh, a big name in the world of Punjabi films and songs, is making a debut in Bollywood with this upcoming flick. He has been cast opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan while Shahid, who is trapped in the drug racket, has Alia on his side.

Speaking about his role in the film, Diljit Dosanjh said, “In the film, I play a Punjab police cop. I have played a policeman before in my films but this time, the part is very real. There are no tight clothes, nobody at the display. Abhishek sir has done a research of 3 to 4 years. I did not have to do anything at all. He just asked me to act the way I felt.”

‘Udta Punjab’ is all about the rising drug problem in the state of Punjab and the fight to uproot it. This is evident from the tag line that reads, “Drugs Di Maa Di” . The film is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures. The trailer will release on April 16.
