Virat Kohli to sing the tunes of AR Rahman

We are used to Virat Kohli‘s power-packed sixers on ground. We have even seen him acting in TV commercials. But the handsome hunk, now, is going to step into a singer’s shoes as well! Kohli has been signed in as the official brand ambassador of ‘Premier Futsal’ contest and will sing to the tunes composed by legendary music composer AR Rahman.

For those who didn’t know, ‘Futsal’ is a modified form of soccer where five players play in each side. ‘Premier Futsal’ is the first ever organised Futsal League in India arranged by Premier Futsal Management Pvt Ltd.

Rahman, for the promotional campaign, is composing a song which will be more like a rap number.

Is Kohli nervous? He of course is. “I’m under more pressure than on the field, as I’m sitting next to Rahman, a person I hugely admire. Many childhood memories have a connection to the tunes of this man. I know how to prepare for cricket. Have no clue about recording sessions,” he says.

Although, we heard Kohli’s colleagues know him to be a good singer; especially when it comes to crooning Hindi and Punjabi songs. “Kohli loves all kinds, but particularly likes singing Punjabi and Hindi songs. The Punjabi ones are really good. He has a taste for good music,” revealed CMK Dhananjai, former performance analyst of the team, who has travelled extensively with Kohli. “Suresh Raina is a good singer too, mostly Hindi film numbers,” said Dhananjai, team India’s support staff.
