Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi had adopted a village called Muthavakuntlapalli of Kanaganipalli mandal in Andhra Pradesh on January 24, 2015 as he visited the place on the event of former Minister Paritala Ravindra’s death anniversary. The actor shares a personal equation with Ravindra’s family and promised to turn the village into a model village in India.
The constituency to which the village belongs, is represented by Paritala Sunitha, who happens to be the civil supplies minister. Out of a list of plans that he has for the village, few are: Purified water plant, e-education, better drainage system and independent lavatories.
Minister Paritala Sunitha, MP N Kistappa, ZP chairman Chamansaab and joint collector B Lakshmi Kantham accompanied the actor during his visit to the village. Reportedly, Oberoi also held a gramsabha where he referred to to Ravindra as a real life hero.
