When Huma Qureshi was asked to change her name because it resembled a Pakistani actor’s name

Huma Qureshi, who made a successful Bollywood debut with Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, went on to do interesting films that challenged her as an actor. However, her latest release ‘Dobaara’ wherein she was seen alongside brother Saqib Saleem for the first time, did not make noise at the box office.

Like everyone else, Huma has had her days that shaped her; They were full of weird advices, as she recalls. “I was asked to change my name, as there’s a Pakistani actor with the same name and [I was told] that I wouldn’t want that association, [more so] since I wanted to be the leading lady. I was like, ‘I am not going to do that. I will always be Huma Qureshi and people will have to deal with that,” she revealed to MSN, during a conversation.

Well, we’re glad you didn’t give up to something as silly as that, Huma!
