When Ranbir Kapoor tried to pull a ‘Phillauri’ prank on Anushka Sharma, and it backfired

Anushka Sharma is all geared up for her next, ‘Phillauri’, which is also being produced by her and will see the actress playing a friendly spirit named Shashi.

The actress is seen promoting the movie at various platforms, and despite the hectic schedule, she took some time off it and headed to Bhopal, where she will be shooting for her sequence in the biopic of Sanjay Dutt, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film, which stars Ranbir Kapoor playing Dutt, will see Anushka playing a lawyer and the two actors will be sharing screen space for the third time, after ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘Bombay Velvet’. So when Anushka reached the sets, Ranbir being his naughty self, decided to play a prank on Shashi aka Anushka. The whole team was stationed at the Jehan Numa Palace hotel in Bhopal and because Anushka was the last one to reach, Ranbir and team made up stories to scare her.

A source from the unit revealed to Pinkvilla, “When Anushka arrived, Ranbir and his team were ready with all the haunted stories. They told Anushka that the hotel was haunted and that they needed to move out as soon as possible. However, Anushka being Anushka, realised their plan and told them off. She realised they were taking a dig at her ‘Phillauri’ character.”

Sanjay Dutt biopic also stars Sonam Kapoor in a small role.
