Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte-starrer ‘PadMan’ is slated to release on Republic Day next year. However, the theatrical and overseas rights of the film are already sold and that too for whopping amount.
Reportedly, Sony has bought the theatrical and overseas rights of the film for a huge amount. It is said that Sony saw a few rushes of the film, and loved it.
‘PadMan’ is a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantham who invented machines to produce inexpensive sanitary napkins, for women in villages who do not have access to the modern day.
The movie is produced by Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna. It is her first production venture, and it is being directed by R Balki. Apart from ‘PadMan’, Akshay will be seen in films like ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘2.0’, ‘Gold’, ‘Crack’ and ‘Moghul’. While the first two films will be releasing this year, others are slated to hit the screens in 2018.
