In spite of being an outsider in Bollywood, actress Taapsee Pannu has made a mark with her performances so far. Starting with the box office disaster ‘Chashme Baddoor’ in 2013, the actress finally got recognition in Shoojit Sircar’s ‘PINK’ and has many movies releasing this year. (Also Read: Really? Taapsee Pannu’s character in ‘Baby’ was meant to serve as a teaser for ‘Naam Shabana’)
At a recent media interaction, Taapsee was quizzed about Kangana Ranaut’s nepotism statement targeted at Karan Johar on ‘Koffee With Karan 5’. Here’s what she had to say, “The debate about nepotism will always be there. We can never do away with it but we have reached a point where the ‘so-called’ outsiders are not helpless. We do have people who recognise our talent like Shoojit da (Shoojit Sircar) , Neeraj sir and Shivam sir (Shivam Nair, director of ‘Naam Shabana’). They have come up to me and they have worked with me again. Even David sir for that matter, whose own son (Varun Dhawan) is in the industry. He has launched me and is working with me again. You don’t feel the step-motherly attitude anymore.”
For those unknown, Kangana called Karan Johar as the flagbearer of nepotism on his talk show ‘Koffee With Karan 5’. Of course, KJo laughed it off at the time, but later on reacted to the accusations asking Kangana to stop playing the ‘victim card’ and quit the industry if she feels she is being targeted.
On the work front, Taapsee will be seen in the central role in the movie ‘Naam Shabana’ and will also be seen in David Dhawan’s ‘Judwaa 2’.
