Disha Vakani is one of the most loved actors in the industry. She is popularly known for playing the role of Dayaben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. She is celebrating her 45th birthday today. And well, on her special day, let us tell you that her journey didn’t begin with TMKOC. The actress started her career with theatre. She did theatre with her brother Mayur Vakani, who plays Sundar Lal in TMKOC.

After theatre, Disha stepped into Bollywood. She made her acting debut with the film Kamsin: The Untouched. Not many know, she also featured in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan starrer Jodhaa Akbar. Yes, she was a part of the Ashutosh Gowariker directorial. The actress played the role of Jodhaa’s aide, Madhavi, who went with her to the Kingdom of the Mughals after Jodhaa exchanged wedding vows with Emperor Akbar (Hrithik Roshan).

Interestingly, Disha was also a part of films like Devdas, Mangal Pandey: The Rising, Phool Aur Aag, C Kkompany, and Love Story 2050 among others.
It was in 2008, Disha bagged an opportunity to play Dayaben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Post that, there was no looking back for her. In 2017, she announced she was expecting a baby and went on a maternity leave. Post that, she has been missing from the screen. In 2022, she welcomed her second child, a baby boy. There have been reports of Disha returning to TMKOC.
A few days ago, TMKOC producer Asit Modi hinted at Disha’s return. As quoted by Jagran, Asit said, “There is one artist we cannot forget. Daya bhabhi aka Disha Vakani. She has entertained fans and made us laugh through it all. Fans are waiting for her comeback. And I also promise you that Disha Vakani will be back in Taarak Mehta very soon.”
Well, we can’t wait to see her back in TMKOC.
