When Jaya Bachchan compared family values of Aishwarya Rai and Karisma Kapoor

Actor-turned-politician Jaya Bachchan never refrains from speaking about controversial issues be it politics or Bollywood. However, when it comes to talking about her family members the veteran actress remains quite alert.

On the other hand, it is worth mentioning here that before marrying Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jaya’s son Abhishek Bachchan was in a serious relationship with Karisma Kapoor. The two had even got engaged and in front of the entire press, Jaya had introduced Karisma as her daughter-in-law and ‘Abhishek’s gift to his dad’. Unfortunately, their relationship ended soon.

Now Jaya’s old interview in which she compared Aishwarya with Karisma over family values has taken the internet by the storm. In the said interview with People magazine, on being asked if she wants their family values to rub off on people who join the family, Aishwarya for example, the veteran actress said, “Yes. That is why I wanted my son to marry a girl who has those values, who has that tradition, that culture.”

She further said, “Karisma has the blood and genes of the Kapoors. They have the tradition. Her father and I were buddies, they had good relations with my husband. So one must not always blame the families.”

It is to be noted that Aishwarya is happily married to Abhishek and they have a beautiful daughter, Aaradhya. Whereas, Karisma is happily raising her two kids – Samiera and Kiaan Raj Kapoor.
