Did you know Katrina Kaif once said she’s packing her bags and leaving Bollywood?

Katrina Kaif is one of the most loved actresses in Bollywood. She made her acting debut with Boom in 2003, and gained immense recognition with Namastey London. With hard work and talent, Katrina has successfully carved a niche for herself in the industry. She has been a part of films like Tiger Zinda Hai, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?, Rajneeti, Ek Tha Tiger, and Sooryavanshi among others. But did you know that there was a time when she wanted to pack her bags and leave Bollywood?

Katrina and Akshay Kumar starrer Namastey London released in 2007. On Koffee With Karan, Katrina once admitted she was terrified when she first saw the film. The actress had said, “When I saw the film, I was terrified. Vipul (Amrutlal Shah, director) showed it to me and said, ‘What do you think?’ I didn’t call him back. You know, when a director shows the actress a film, you have to give him feedback. I took off home, shut the door and didn’t give him a call.”

The actress added that she got a call from his assistant, saying that he was ‘really upset’ that she did not give her feedback. She said, “I called him and I said, ‘Hi Vipul’”. He asked, “What do you think?” I said, “Nice, very nice film. Okay, bye.” Katrina went on to add that, at the time, she felt that the film would end her career. She said, “I just saw too much of me in the film and you start believing what people say. I was like ‘No, no, no, people can’t see me in a film, they won’t watch the film, it’s a disaster. This is over, my life is over.’”

The actress added, “I was like, ‘I am packing my bags and I am going to find a new career’”. However, she got a ‘shock’ when the film did well at the box office. Talking about the same, she said, “That was really nice, it was really important for me because I think it did change people’s perception. It was the first time I got so many calls even from the industry, from the directors saying, ‘I think you did pretty well in the movie’”.

Katrina has interesting projects in the pipeline. She will be seen in Tiger 3 with Salman Khan. She also has Phone Bhoot and Merry Christmas with Vijay Sethupathi.
