August 23, 2023, was a historic moment for India as Chandrayaan 3 landed successfully on the moon. The entire country was celebrating this achievement from the common man to Bollywood celebs and politicians. Amidst Chandrayaan 3 success, did you know Shah Rukh Khan owned a land on the moon? Yes, Shah Rukh Khan has bought a piece of the land on the moon just like the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Shah Rukh Khan has a plot on Moon
Well, SRK took his song ‘Chaand Taare’ from Yes Boss too seriously. He actually has a good area on the moon, called Sea of Tranquility. As per the Lunar Registry, the land was gifted to him. Every year, a fan of SRK from Australia buys a little land for him on the moon on his birthday.
In a throwback interview with Zee News, the Pathaan actor said, “An Australian lady buys a little land on the moon for me every year on my birthday. She has been buying it for a while now and I get these certificates from the Lunar Republic Society. She writes me colourful emails (in the sense one line is red, one is blue and so on). I feel blessed to have the love of so many people worldwide.”
In fact, her fan, named Sandi, spoke to Glamsham about the same and said, “Yes, it’s true that I bought a block of land on the Moon for King Khan. I wanted him to be the first Hindi film hero on the Moon! I want him to always be first in everything. For his birthday in 2002, I had a star in the Scorpius constellation named after him. (It was also a first for a Hindi hero). The Moon idea was to follow the ASOKA theme of the Sun, the Moon and the Stars. Maybe for next birthday, I will have organised something to represent the Sun.”
Sushant Singh Rajput buys a plot on the moon
Though the plot was gifted to Shah Rukh Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput bought a plot for himself giving a whopping amount. According to the reports, the Dil Bechara actor who loves astronomy purchased a piece of land on the moon worth Rs 55 lakh. He even used to watch the moon through his telescope. The region he bought is called the Mare Muscoviense or the Sea of Muscovy.
