Suhana Khan once admitted to wanting Shah Rukh Khan known as ‘Suhana’s dad’ in school: I hated the attention, it made me self-conscious

Suhana Khan entered the entertainment industry by starring in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. The digital film also starred Khushi Kapoor, Vedang Raina, Agastya Nanda, Mihir Ahuja, Aditi Dot and Yuvraj Menda in pivotal roles. Suhana will soon share screen space with her father Shah Rukh Khan in the actioner ‘The King’.

The 23-year-old actress in an interview with Vogue (in 2018) shared how she disliked the attention she received from people in her school for being the daughter of superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

Suhana told the publication, “I realised quite early on that it was different for us. But, I never really thought about my dad being famous. When I was about five, he would come and drop me to school, and people would point and stare. He wasn’t being addressed as Suhana’s dad, which is what I wanted. It confused me. He would want to hug me, and I would push him back in the car. I hated the attention, it made me very self-conscious.” 

In the same interview, she added that as time passed she came to terms with the reality, “I realised if I wanted to hug my dad, he’s my dad- I’m just going to hug him.” 

Suhana Khan is Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s second child. They also have two sons, Aryan Khan (26) and AbRam Khan (11).

Suhana’s next is the currently being talked about film The King. Also starring Shah Rukh Khan, the 200 crore budget film is being directed by Sujoy Ghosh and is likely to be released next year (2025).
