Vidya Balan recalls her childhood days of dancing on Madhuri Dixit’s ‘Ek Do Teen’ song

There are many actresses in Bollywood who take Madhuri Dixit as their inspiration. One such actress is Vidya Balan. She got inspiration from Madhuri when she was a child. Recently, Vidya attended an event where she had spoken on how she got the inspiration to get into acting.

It was during the Itch Summit 2019 when Vidya was asked about how she got the itching of acting, the ‘Dirty Picture’ actress said, “Main aath saal ki thi aur ‘Ek Do Teen’ release hua tha. I saw Madhuri Dixit and Oh My God! Main Madhuri Dixit banna chahti hu, literally. Meri behen ke pas ek brown colour ka silk skirt tha jisse woh nafrat karti thi. Main woh sar pe laga leti thi aur jaise Madhuri headgear pehenti thi, main woh skirt twist karke aapne sar pe pehenti thi aur ghanto aaine ke samne nachti rehti thi. Because I was convinced that I was junior Madhuri Dixit” (I was eight-years-old and ‘Ek Do Teen’ song released. I saw Madhuri Dixit and wanted to be like her. My sister had a brown silk skirt which she didn’t like. I used to twist it and wear it as the headgear as Madhuri used to wear in the song).

“By the age of 11, I realised that I want to act and there was no doubt in my mind,” added the actress.

Vidya started her acting career at the age of sixteen. She made her television debut with ‘Hum Paanch’ in 1995 and made her Bollywood debut with ‘Parineeta’ in 2005. After that, she never looked back and went on proving her versatility. Today she is one of the successful actors in Bollywood.
