When Aamir Khan gifted an exotic saree to Kareena Kapoor Khan- WATCH

There was a time when actor Aamir Khan had gifted an expensive saree to Kareena Kapoor Khan during the shoot of 3 Idiots or Talaash. We came across an old video on social media where Aamir and Kareena are buying a Chanderi silk saree from the daily wage workers and mentioned that he wants to gift it to Kareena Kapoor. In the video, Aamir is telling the sellers that he will buy the product for Rs 25,000 and not for Rs 6500 as that is not the market value.  

He gifted her a beautiful black saree with nice silver prints on it. Talking about the experience, Kareena said to a leading daily that she travelled for 7 hours to meet Aamir and then they went to a daily wage worker’s house where they make handloom sarees. Bebo mentioned that they get Rs 50 daily for their work and the sarees are been sold at whooping Rs 30-40,000 in the market. She said as Khan considered her to be a fashion icon, the Dangal actor asked Kareena to promote the handloom industries.

“It has been chaotic and I am so exhausted. When I first came to MP, I was scared as no one had told me where we were going. I was only told that we have to meet Aamir. I only met him after travelling for seven hours. He took me to Chanderi and I didn’t even know that the place existed. Aamir said that I am a style icon and I should promote these handloom industries. The forefathers of these workers used to work for royal families and make their costumes. We actually went to these homes and saw the way they live. They stay in one room and work for 10-12 hours every day and only take home about Rs 50 every day, while the designers take their work and sell it for Rs 30-40,000. They do not even have electricity in their homes. We also had dinner with them. He has also invited many of them to the premiere of our film and they will be watching it with us,” the Good Newwz actor said.

Meanwhile, Kareena and Aamir are once coming together for Laal Singh Chaddha which is scheduled to release on April 18, 2022.
