Legendary actor and writer Kader Khan took his last breath on January 1, 2019, at a hospital in Canada. He was 81-year-old at the time of death. The funeral ceremony was held in Mississauga yesterday.
On the demise of the actor, many Bollywood actors mourned his death. Amitabh Bachchan took to his Twitter handle to pay condolences to Kader Khan. Sarfaraz, Kader Khan’s son revealed the name of the person whom his father loved the most in the industry. He said, “The one person that my father loved the most was Bachchan saab (Amitabh Bachchan). I’d ask my father whom he missed the most from the film industry and the answer promptly would be Bachchan Saab. And I know the love was mutual. I want Bachchan saab to know that my father spoke about him till the end.”
The late actor might have missed Amitabh Bachchan during his last days. An old video has surfaced on the internet in which we see Kader Khan talking about his friendship with Mr. Bachchan. Kader Khan and Amitabh Bachchan together gave hits like ‘Coolie’, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, and ‘Lawaaris’ among others.
The video starts with Mr. Khan saying that he never called Amitabh Bachchan ‘Sir ji’. “I used to call him Amit. Then one day, a producer asked me if I’d met Sir ji. I asked who Sir ji? He then said ‘you don’t know that tall man?’. I then saw Amit and said he is Amit. When did he become Sir ji? But he said ‘We call him Sir ji.’ Everyone began calling him as Sir ji. I couldn’t address him as Sir ji. Can anyone call his friend, his brother with another name? It is impossible.”
“And maybe because of that, I couldn’t connect. I was not in there ‘Khuda Gawah’. I was writing ‘Ganga Jamunaa Saraswati’ but left in the middle and also there were other films I didn’t do,” he added.
Here’s the video.
