When Madhuri Dixit’s marriage proposal was refused by this popular singer

Bollywood’s Dhak Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit is one of the popular actresses of Bollywood. The actress with her dazzling smile and groove on the dance floor went on to rule the hearts of her fans. Madhuri who marked her Bollywood debut with Abodh went on to garner much fame with her hit number Ek Do Teen from Tezaab. She also received many marriage proposals in the course of her career. But not many know that a popular singer had once refused her arranged marriage proposal.

Madhuri Dixit comes from a conservative family and her parents wanted her to get married at an early age. They were worried that if she continued working in Bollywood, then it will be hard to find a good partner for her.

The Tezaab stars parents soon started looking for a perfect match for their daughter. Finally, they decided on budding singer Suresh Wadkar. They sent him a marriage proposal. But, the response was not what they expected it to be. Suresh Wadkar rejected the proposal and the reason was that he found Madhuri Dixit too thin.

But his rejection proved lucky for Madhuri as she soon went on to be one of the top leading ladies of Bollywood. With six Filmfare awards and the Padma Shri awards in her kitty, Madhuri created her own niche in Bollywood.

Madhuri Dixit found her Prince Charming in Dr Shriram Madhav Nene, a cardiovascular surgeon from Los Angeles. On October 17, 1999, the diva tied the knot. Together they have two sons, Arin and Rayaan.
