When Priyanka Chopra slammed Annu Kapoor for ‘cheap comments’ on her refusal to do ‘intimate scenes’ in 7 Khoon Maaf

Actor Priyanka Chopra received immense appreciation for her performance in the movie 7 Khoon Maaf. She played the role of an anglo-Indian woman who causes seven deaths in her entire life, in an unending search for love. In the movie, actor Annu Kapoor plays the role of Keemat Lal, the fifth husband of Priyanka Chopra. It was during the promotions of 7 Khoon Maaf that the actors made headlines due to their war of words.

When Annu Kapoor claimed Priyanka refused to do intimate scenes

Back in 2011, Kapoor claimed that Priyanka had refused to do intimate scenes with him because he did not look good. Speaking with Hindustan Times, Priyanka Chopra recalled how she read that Annu Kapoor said she refused to do intimates scenes because he is ‘not good-looking’.

The actress had said, “I read that Annu Sir had said: ‘I’m not good-looking, I’m not a hero. Agar main hero hota, then maybe she would have done intimate scenes with me. Because otherwise, she doesn’t have a problem doing intimate scenes with heroes. If talent goes out of the window, I guess you just need to be good looking.”

Priyanka Chopra reacts and calls out ‘cheap comments’

Later, Priyanka chose to not remain silent and called out Kapoor for the same. She said his comments were ‘cheap’ and mentioned that intimate scenes were ‘never part’ of the film. The actress said, “If he wants to do intimate scenes and pass such cheap comments, then he should do those kinds of films. Such scenes were never part of our film. I’m very irritated. I don’t think unko aisa kehna shobha deta hai (saying such things doesn’t suit him at all).”

Chopra then said that Annu Kapoor’s comments have upsetted her. She also said it was wrong of him to talk the way he did. The actress added, “I don’t think he knew that his comments would upset me. But, his statements have really upset me. It was very wrong of him to speak the way he did.”

After Priyanka expressed her thoughts on the comments by Kapoor, the 7 Khoon Maaf actor was asked for his reaction to her statement. In his defense, Annu Kapoor said, “I have never ever uttered a single word for or against Priyanka, allegedly about her refusing to do any scene with me. It’s none of my business; it is between the director and her.”

In his comment later, Kapoor also mentioned that he addresses Priyanka as ‘beta’ and further shared an ‘elderly advice’ for her. He said, “My elderly advice to Priyanka: ‘Beta (Well, I do affectionately address her as beta), don’t take all this too seriously. Don’t get stressed. You’re a wonderful actress. God bless you.’”

Meanwhile, Priyanka has not worked with Kapoor in 7 Khoon Maaf only. They also worked together in the movie Aitraaz.

On the work front, Chopra is currently gearing up for the release of her Hollywood movie, Love Again. And, she has the web series Citadel and Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa in her kitty.
