Ranbir Kapoor is one of the most talented actors in the industry. He is currently enjoying the success of his latest film Animal. Ranbir has delivered a performance to remember in the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial. Amid this, we look back at the time when Ranbir expressed his desire to make a biopic on late grandfather Raj Kapoor. Today, i.e. December 14 marks Raj Kapoor’s 99th birth anniversary. He was one of the greatest and influential actors and filmmakers.
Ranbir wants to do a biopic on Raj Kapoor
At the book launch event of ‘Raj Kapoor: The Master At Work’ in 2021, Ranbir had said that he wants to a biographical feature film on the life of his grandfather. According to Khaleej Times, Ranbir said, “I’m very much interested in making a biopic on his life.”
He added, “There are so many things which were off the record probably when Rahul (Rawail) uncle was working with him. I know Rahul uncle has many stories which he has not put in the book.” For the uninitiated, ‘Raj Kapoor: The Master at Work’, is a biography written by filmmaker Rahul Rawail, who was assistant director to Raj Kapoor.
Raj Kapoor worked in movies such as Anari, Shree 420, Mera Naam Joker, Chori Chori, Chhalia, Awara, and Anari among others.
On the other hand, Ranbir starrer Animal has been breaking box office records since its release. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial released in theatres worldwide on December 1. In 13 days, Animal has earned over Rs 750 crores at the worldwide box office. Apart from Ranbir, Animal also stars Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri.
