Rashmika Mandanna is one of the most popular actresses in the industry. Rashmika, who turns 27 today, made her acting debut with Kirik Party. In an old interview, Rashmika had revealed how she bagged her first acting project. The actress had revealed that when she was offered Kirik Party, she thought it was a ‘prank call’ and even blocked the number.
Rashmika thought her first film offer was ‘prank‘
Speaking with Mashaba India, Rashmika had said, “For Kirik Party they wanted someone young with a mature face. I got a call from the production house, but I thought it was a prank call. So, I said, ‘I am not interested in any films sir, please keep the phone down.’ I then blocked the number.”
After she blocked the number, the filmmakers tried to contact her through friends and her teacher. She added, “They tried reaching out through every connection they had, because they really wanted to meet me. They finally called my class teacher.”
Rashmika went on to add that she met the filmmakers under her teacher’s guidance. She recalled telling them that she does not know how to act. However, after the makers recorded some dialogues on camera, she was selected for the role.
Rashmika delivered a terrific performance in her debut film, Kirik Party. The actress was starred opposite Rakshit Shetty. For the uninitiated, Rashmika won SIIMA Award for the Best Debut Actress for the role. Post that, Rashmika went on to star in films like Anjani Putra, Chamak, Geetha Govindham, Sulthan, Sita Ramam, Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu, and Pushpa: The Rise.
Rashmika made her Bollywood debut with Amitabh Bachchan starrer Goodbye. The actress later delivered a good performance in Mission Majnu. She shared screen space with Siddharth Malhotra in the same.
