When Rishi Kapoor said he wants to spend time with his grandchildren before he is ‘gone’

Monday started with a great news in B-town. Newlyweds Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt announced pregnancy. The Kapoors and Bhatts are over the moon and so as Ranbir-Alia’s fans. Social media is flooded with congratulatory messages from celebs and well-wishers for the would-be parents. Amidst this good news, an old interview of Rishi Kapoor has surfaced online where he talked about having grandkids. Rishi passed away in 2020 and two years before his death, in an interview he said that to have grandkids is his last wish and he wants to ‘spend time’ with Ranbir’s kids.

In an interview with Mid-Day in 2018, he had said, “It is high time he got married. I settled down when I was 27, and Ranbir is 35. So he should think about marriage. He can marry anyone of his choice; we don’t have any objection to it. I want to spend time with my grandchildren before I am gone.”

Also, an old video of Rishi Kapoor has gone viral where he advises Ranbir to take care of his future wife. He said, “You have to live your life and you have to live your life with that person, your soulmate. You have to be very careful because that person is going to be the mother of your children. The child’s great grandfather will be Raj Kapoor and my grandson.”

On June 27, Alia announced the news of her pregnancy on Instagram with a sweet picture of herself with Ranbir. She wrote, “Baby coming soon…” In the pic, both Alia and Ranbir were happily looking at the sonography monitor. They tied the knot in April 14, 2022.
