Late actress Sridevi was called the Lady Bachchan of Bollywood. She not only received equal pay as her male counterparts but often had roles just written for her. Amitabh Bachchan sent a truckload of flowers to Sridevi
It so happened that Amitabh Bachchan was roped in to play the leading role in Khuda Gawah. The megastar was keen on Sridevi to play the leading lady opposite him in the movie. But, Sridevi refused the film opposite Amitabh Bachchan unless she had an equally solid role. Amitabh had to woo her by sending a truckload of flowers to get her to act opposite him in Khuda Gawah.
Sridevi believed that there is not much scope for a heroine to perform in an Amitabh Bachchan film. She will be just a showpiece in the movie. To change her mind Big B sent a truckload of roses to Sridevi. The beauty was blown over by the gesture and ended up being the female lead in the film.
But before signing the dotted lines she asked for a double role and equal screen time as Amitabh Bachchan. The actress was seen playing the mother and daughter in the movie. The rest is history and Khuda Gawah went on to be a blockbuster hit.
