Nana Patekar’s interview on his first son’s death

Nana Patekar is undoubtedly a versatile performer, whose every film seals the stamp on this fact. There’s no actor who can match his hard-hitting voice and dialogue delivery, which makes him fit so easily into any character. When it comes to sharing his thoughts and opinions, he has never minced words and has even shared the reality of his personality. Recently, we came across an old interview of this talented personality where he revealed that how it was the death of his first son that made him realised what a cunning person he was. Yes, it’s hard to believe, but it’s true.

In his interview with Times of India, he spoke about his wife Neelakanthi Patekar and also mentioned that he got married at the age of 27 and they had their first son. The actor had lost his father at the age of 28 and it was within two-and-a-half years when he lost his first son. He said, “From his birth, he had a cut lip and had a lot of problems. He taught me so much in that short period. I realised what a cunning person I am. My wife accepted him immediately but I used to feel how can my son be like this. But slowly, when I started loving him, it was time for him to go. I am a mediocre human being.” (Also Check: These facts will reveal the unknown shades of Nana Patekar)

“I was more concerned about what people would say instead of getting attached to that child. Slowly, he grabbed me and when he died I realised. I knew that he would die and yet I was more worried about what people would say. Today, I am not worried. Now I don’t feel anything. Whether my film runs or not, whether I am honoured or not, it doesn’t make any difference. Somewhere I am little obsessed with death now,” added the actor.

Undoubtedly, losing his young son at that time was an unfortunate loss which left Nana with a serious realisation about himself.

Further, in this interview the actor even shared that he is most attached with his mother and second son Malhar Patekar at that point of time in his life.

Indeed, as nothing is planned and fixed in one’s destiny, it is an extremely sad incident in the actor’s life.
