It’s July 4, 2017. Exactly, nine years ago, Aamir Khan’s nephew, Imran Khan had made his Bollywood debut with the film ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’. The movie was a hit at the box office and Imran was said to be the next big thing in Bollywood. However, not all the actors, who make their debut with a hit movie, make a mark, and it proved right in his case.
After ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’, Imran starred in 11 films. From these 11 movies, seven were flop, two were hits and two were average at the box office. Well, Imran’s last film that did an average business at the box office was in 2012; it was ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’. After that he starred in ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’, ‘Once Upon ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara!’, ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ and ‘Katti Batti’. All these films were duds at the box office. He made his debut with a bang, but later faded away. It’s been around one and a half year, since we last saw him on the big screen, and the actor currently has no movie in hand. He was touted to star in ‘Bhavesh Joshi’, which later fell into the hands of Harshvardhan Kapoor, the newbie on the block. We wonder if Imran will ever be able to recreate the magic with which he entered Bollywood.
‘Eat Sleep Bollywood Repeat’ is his life Mantra. Dance is his first love and Rani Mukerji is his eternal crush. He is someone who loves being himself, and as for the ones who don’t agree, his reply? “Talk to my hand!”
