Brahmachari (1968)
Brahmachari (Shammi Kapoor), an orphan, lives in a mortgaged house with a dozen orphan kids and a servant in difficult financial circumstances. He happens to come to the rescue of Sheetal Choudhary (Rajshree), who wants to kill herself since her childhood sweetheart dumps her for being poor. Brahmachari takes it on himself to teach her the rich man's style of living and thereby bring her sweetheart back to her. But in return, he asks for a fee. An emotional and high-voltage drama follows as Sheetal tries to win back her lover's love and Brahmachari and the kids help her.
Dost (1974)
Maanav (Dharmendra) is an orphan who has been brought up by a Catholic priest. On returning home after completing his studies, he learns that the priest is dead. Maanav moves to Mumbai and becomes friends with an alcoholic thief, Gopichand Sharma (Shatrughan Sinha). Gopi turns over a new leaf when Maanav gets him a job. Meanwhile, Maanav falls in love with Gopi's boss' daughter Kaajal aka Kaju Gupta (Hema Malini). But one day, the protagonist disappears from Gopi and Kaajal's lives. And the story follows.
Dream Girl (1977)
A quintessential Mills & Boon romance with some orphans thrown in for effect. This movie is the story of Sapna (Hema Malini), who is more or less like a modern day female Robin Hood. She, under many names and disguises, steals from people to earn a living for herself and the orphans who live with her. Sapna bumps into the rich and single Anupam Verma (Dharmendra)and convinces him she's a rich princess herself. She starts living with him. But soon, people recognise one of her many identities – Champabai, the prostitute.
Ek Ladka Ek Ladki (1992)
Bhagwati Prasad (Anupam Kher) takes care of his late brother's estate along with his wife and brother-in-law. He is obviously the villain who spends all the money and is in debt all the time. Enter Renu (Neelam), his niece who returns from the United States. She runs away from her uncle's house with some money, has an accident and loses all memory. Raja (Salman Khan) who lives with three orphaned kids, saves her and she starts staying with them. When her uncle finds out about her, he tries to kill her, and Raja tries his best to save her.
Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993)
Rahul Malhotra (Aamir Khan) is the caretaker of a garment company that has a pending order of two lakh shirts to Mr Bijlani. Rahul is also the guardian of his deceased sister's mischievous kids: Sunny, Munni, and Vicky.The three mischievous kids bump into this fun-loving girl Vyjayanti (Juhi Chawla) who has run away from her father and the dancer suitor he'd chosen for her. Rahul hires her as the governess for the children. And well, like all other movies, Rahul and Vyjayanti fall in love. But then like every movie, this one has a villain too. Enter Maya (Navneet Nishan), the daughter of another big industrialist who Rahul used to work for. She and her father force Rahul to get married to her, and a fun yet emotional saga follows.
Mr. India (1987)
We all know the story by heart perhaps, but still, here goes... An orphan himself, Arun Verma (Anil Kapoor) looks after a hoard of orphans. He has no money to afford all amenities for them, so decides to rent a room in their house to a tenant Seema (Sridevi). Mogambo (Amrish Puri), the underworld crime lord, takes an interest in the house Verma lives in and tries to force him and the children out. Arun's father's friend (Ashok Kumar) then introduces him to a device (wristband) that can turn anyone invisible. Arun becomes the invisible 'Mr India' and tries to eliminate crime from the land. And then we all know what happens.
One 2 Ka 4 (2001)
Javed (Jackie Shroff) and Arun Verma (SRK) are honest hardworking cops. After Javed dies in one of their missions, Arun takes the sole responsibility of his four now-orphaned kids and seeks the help of Geeta Chowdhury (Juhi Chawla) for the same. The story carries on with Verma trying to investigate the kids' father's death.
Parichay (1972)
Ravi (Jeetendra) desperately needs a job. He decides to visit his relatives in the village to take his mind off the frustration. His uncle (AK Hangal) gets him a makeshift job as a teacher for a bunch of bratty grandchildren of rich man Rai Saheb (Pran). Ravi accepts the offer, but soon realises it it's far tougher to make these children learn anything. He succeeds in doing so, and falls in love with the teenager in the gang, played by Jaya Bachchan.
Raju Chacha (2000)
Siddhant Rai (Rishi Kapoor) is a wealthy architect, living a comfortable lifestyle with his three children Rohit, Rahul and Rani. Also living with them is their butler B.B.C (Tiku Talsania).Meanwhile, a con-man named Shekhar (Ajay Devgan) and his friend Jadu (Johnny Lever) have just robbed a bank and are on the run from police. Ajay Devgn then enters the Rai household as th kids paternal uncle, Raju. The children love him, and so does their nanny, Anna (Kajol). But then, the 'real' Raju Chacha enters the scene and the plot is twisted.
