Arjun Kapoor-Kareena Kapoor Khan’s fresh pairing
Arjun Kapoor & Kareena Kapoor Khan are pairing up for the first time. Fresh chemistries are always something to look up to. 'Ki and Ka' is no exception. We hope they come up with brilliant performances and a mutual synchronisation.
The film strongly questions gender roles
In 'Ki and Ka', a husband and a wife have swapped their responsibilities. While the wife works, earns and runs the family, the devoted husband stays at home and takes care of the household. Seems powerful? Exactly. The film is hitting hard on stereotypes, pre-set social notions and gender roles. While men are always the ones to earn and women are always often kept limited from discovering the outside world, the makers couldn't have come up with a more relevant storyline.
An elder heroine is not a myth
We don't know what's up with this trend of Bollywood; but this better be broken. An elder, even a much elder hero is perfect. But an alder heroine? Everyone freaks out. Another unfortunate taboo, we assume. It feels great to see that an established actress like Kareena Kapoor has dared to act opposite an younger actor.
Balki has never disappointed us
As a director, a producer, and a writer, Balki has never disappointed. From 'Cheeni Kum', 'Paa' to 'Shamitabh', all his films are packed with relevant content and apt execution. We hope 'Ki and Ka' falls on the same row.
Ilayiaraja’s music is sheer brilliance
Over 5000 songs. Background scores for over 1000 films. Ilayiaraja, the man who has wooed with his soul-stirring compositions, needs no introduction. Not many know that this man is the first Asian to compose a full symphony performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. From film music to religious and devotional, Ilayiraja's diversity is unquestionable. When such a man is behind the tunes of 'Ki and Ka', who needs another reason to be excited?
Less than two months to go; and R Balki’s ‘Ki and Ka’ will be there in the theatres. 2016 is a promising year for Bollywood with a number of successful films already released and many more on the row. However, amidst all the predicted hits, ‘Ki and Ka’ has a special place in our hearts. Here are five reasons that make the film an absolutely must watch!
