Yashpal was by Anupam's side in the hospital when the doctor's declared him dead. "He was hospitalised for 4 days. He had high blood sugar and used to take injections during shooting of his last film," Yashpal had told ANI.

As soon as news of Anupam's death was confirmed, tributes started pouring in for him. Anupam's industry friends bid him a tearful farewell.
Veteran Bollywood and TV actor Anupam Shyam breathed his last on August 8. The 63-year-old actor died of multiple organ failure. Anupam’s funeral took place at Goregaon. His industry friends and colleagues arrived to attend his funeral. Sanjay Mishra, Aditya Srivastava, Yashpal Sharma came in to offer condolences and pay their last respects. Anupam was last seen in Mann Kee Awaaz: Pratigya 2.
