Raavan (2010)
Mani Ratnam's directorial 'Raavan' was critically acclaimed but tanked at the box office. What was out of the world that made this movie a raging hit? Abhishek Bachchan's performance! He has aced it at all levels in this film. His bandit avatar and his fearless performance were something out of the box and won our hearts!
Dostana (2008)
Tarun Mansukhani's directorial 'Dostana', became a cult classic among the youth. Abhishek Bachchan in an all cool persona and a laid back attitude is a first! He usually portrayed more serious and intense roles in the films but in 'Dostana' it was otherwise. Although his performance was commendable, we all saw Abhishek in a new avatar and we all loved it. The movie story revolves around two straight guys pretending to be gay in order to secure a Miami apartment. When both of them fall for their roommate Neha, hilarity ensues as they strive to convince one and all that they're gay, secretly trying to win her heart.
Guru (2007)
Mani Ratnam's directorial 'Guru' has earned many accolades for its storyline and the performances by the stars. Abhishek Bachchan who played the lead role excelled it on every level. His mind-blowing performance has to be the best in Bollywood. So much so that only Abhishek would have pulled off the role with so much perfection. The movie revolves around a villager, Gurukant Desai (Abhishek Bachchan), arrives in Bombay 1958 and rises from its streets to become the GURU, the biggest tycoon in Indian history.
Sarkar (2005)
Ram Gopal Varma's directorial 'Sarkar' based on the story of Marathi politics won hearts with the brilliant story line itself. Set up in the world of Indian politics, the film is partially inspired by the life of Bal Thackeray. Amitabh and Abhishek played the role of Father and son for the first time in the film. Abhishek's performance in the film is counted as one of the best in his career. He even won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for his performance in 'Sarkar'.
Yuva (2004)
Mani Ratnam's directorial 'Yuva' became a raging hit among the youth and has entered the list of the cult classics of Bollywood. Abhishek Bachchan after his debut in the film industry in the year 2000, did not get any big projects and failed to make his name in a distinguished manner. Even the critics were about to write him off as a non actor but then Mani Ratnam roped him in for 'Yuva'. His performance was so out of the world and appreciated by many. He even earned his first Filmfare Award for his role in the political drama Yuva.
Refugee (2000)
J. P. Dutta's directorial film 'Refugee'marked Abhishek Bachchan's debut in the film industry. The film is attributed to have been inspired by the short story "Love Across the Salt Desert" by Keki N. Daruwalla. Abhishek played the role of a refugee with complete perfection. His first screen debut was mesmerising enough to gain the numerous amount of fan followings.
Abhishek Bachchan, one of the star kids who have successfully taken the Bachchan legacy forward. His acting might have been criticised by few or many but we think he is an absolute charmer on the silver screen.
