Bollywood celebs come together for ‘Udta Punjab’

In a couple of his tweets, actor Ali Fazal wrote, “#UdtaPunjabCensored humein na, doosre deshon pe film banaani chahiye.Apne yahaan jai ho se bhi mann nahi bharta, offend pehle ho jaate hain! #UdtaPunjabCensored baahar gaye toh anti national, andar ki baat ki toh hurting sentiments, apni baat ki toh, non secular,unki ki-toh Banned.”

Soha Ali Khan

Actress Soha Ali Khan wrote on her Twitter account, “Anyone who says that drugs are not a problem in punjab is either unaware,complicit or has malafide intention #UdtaPunjab @_phoenix_fire_”

Nikkhil Advani

Director Nikkhil Advani tweeted, “I guess the next step will be to submit scripts for censorship. #UdtaPunjabCensore”

Mahesh Bhatt

Nowadays films are not in news for their content or the actors in it; they are mostly in news for getting cuts from CBFC. And now, Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Udta Punjab’ has joined the league of the film that has faced the scissors of censor board.

The film is based on the drug abuse happening in Punjab, and thanks to the political pressure, CBFC has taken a decision that the makers of the film should remove all the references to the state. This decision has not gone down well with a lot of Bollywood celebs.

Many Bollywood celebs took to Twitter to show their displeasure against the CBFC’s call.
