Ramoji Film City
The Largest Film City in the World, Ramoji Film City, is located in Hyderaded in state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It covers more than 2000 acres of land, making it the largest film city in the world.The Ramoji Group is certified by Guiness Book Of World Records as the world's largest Film Studio Complex. It is established by Indian Director Ramoji Rao. Movies like Dirty Picture, Magadheera, Jodha Akbar, Krishh, Cocktail were shot here.
Noida Film City
Noida Film City which is one of the famous and huge Film City is located in Sector 16A Noida, India. It houses the Asian Academy of Film & Television and Marwah Films & Video Studios along with prominent news channels from India including CNN-IBN, AajTak from the India Today Group, Zee media channels and India TV. Owing to its proximity to Doordarshan and a large number of private broadcasting and transmitting stations that have moved to the NCR region, the Film City has become a first choice for shooting television serials, news and other entertainment-cum-education programs. Their studio can associate itself with production of above hundred feature films, four thousand TV programmes in more than seventy television channels in fifteen different languages.
The MGR Film City
The MGR film city is an integrated film studio complex in Taramani, Chennai. It was established in 1994 mainly to attract filmmakers and tourists. It was originally named as JJ Film City and was renamed as MGR film city after the hugely popular actor and late Chief Minister M. G. Ramachandran. It also houses a film institute, known as MGR Film and Television Institute. It has a wide range of sets and themes to serve the film making industry. Among these, the sets of Mughal and Japanese are the most popular sets. Later,it was handed over to TIDCO for developing it into a knowledge park. Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Madras and the IT corridor was cited as the reason for it to be developed into a knowledge park.
Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagri – Filmcity Mumbai
Mumbai Film City which is also known as Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagri, is located near Sanjay Gandhi National Park at Goregaon(Mumbai), India. This Film city has served as sets to many Bollywood Movies and Serials. It was created by the State Government to facilitate the Bollywood Industry. It was renamed Dadasaheb Phalke Nagar in memory of the India's First producer-director-screenwriter Dadasaheb Phalke who was known as father of Indian film industry. Television Shows like Maharana Pratap, Comedy Nights with Kapil, Tarak Mehta ka oolta chasma, have thier sets in this Film City. Also Movies like Dhoom, Aankhe, The Burning Train, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Kal Ho Na Ho were filmed at Mumbai Film City.
