Udaan

Udaan is roughly based on the real life of Anurag Kashyap and it received positive reviews from critics on release. The film was made on a budget of 5 crores but managed to gross 30 crores on the box office.

Kahaani

Kahaani is a mystery thriller film directed and co-produced by Sujoy Ghosh. It stars Vidya Balan as Vidya Bagchi, a pregnant woman searching for her missing husband in Kolkata during the festival of Durga Puja. The movie was made on a shoestring budget of Rs. 8 crore and made a whopping Rs 78 crore at the box office.

Vicky Donor

Vicky Donor is a comedy-drama film directed by Shoojit Sircar starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Yami Gautam and Annu Kapoor in the lead roles. Vicky Donor opened to critical acclaim and performed strongly at the box office and was declared a 'Super Hit' by Box Office India. The storyline is based on sperm donation and infertility and was made with a small budget of Rs 5 crore and earning more than Rs 65 crore.

The Lunchbox

The Lunchbox is a epistolary romantic film starring Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles. Its budget was merely Rs. 10 crore, but the film was able to make a collection of Rs. 20 crore. The film was a box-office success. The Lunchbox was nominated for the Film Not in the English Language category of the British Academy Film Awards 2015.
