She won the Stardust Awards Film of the Year for ‘Dirty Picture’ in the year 2011.

Asia’s Social Empowerment Award

Awarded Asia’s Social Empowerment Award- Freedom Through Education in the year 2012.

Woman of the Year Award in 2011

Received the ‘Woman of the Year Award’ for the Most Successful Woman (2012).

Performer of the Year Award

The czarina of the small screen, Ekta Kapoor was born on this day, June 7, 1975. It definitely calls for a celebration as this reigning queen has not just ruled the small screens but has made a very comfortable shift to the big screen. The daughter of former Bollywood superstar Jeetendra and sister of current Bollywood hero Tusshar Kapoor, ventured into Bollywood movie production in 2001 with the movie ‘Kyo Kii… Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta’.

Ekta Kapoor decided to keep the ‘K’ factor for her Bollywood films too. However, the magic of ‘K’ did not work much for her in Bollywood. The only Bollywood movies that have been a huge success in the ‘K’ series is ‘Kya Cool Hain Hum’ and ‘Kya Super Cool Hain Hum’. Finally, the K phase has ended for Ekta and she is still producing successful hits both on Indian Television and Bollywood without the magic of ‘K’.
