On 25 September 2013, a fire broke out on the sets of the show Comedy Nights with Kapil at Film City in Goregaon causing the entire set to collapse and an estimated loss of ₹20 Crores but fortunately, there were no casualties. Kapil Sharma made a new set with the support of his friends and well wishers.

This further led to speculations of Sunil's exit from the show and he plans to make his own comedy show modelled on his character in 'The Kapil Sharma Show', Dr. Mashoor Gulati. Even though, Kapil lent an apology, his extremely rude behaviour has cost him dearly as reports state that none of the teammates are ready to cooperate for further episodes on his show. But, then there are also reports which say that Sunil Grover has not yet quit the show. Well, we don't know what's happening with the show, but we do hope that they reconcile their differences soon.
