When PeeCee was asked about her westernized accent on Karan’s couch in 'Koffee With Karan', she said she gets it from the same place her (Kareena Kapoor’s) boyfriend gets it from. Kareena Kapoor had unintentionally and unconsciously become the face of VHP’s ‘Love Jihad’ campaign. Morphed pictures of the actress were seen on a VHP magazine Himalaya Dhwani’s cover page. The morphed picture soon went viral on the social media. VHP’s young women's wing ‘Durga Vahini’ had launched a campaign of reconverting Hindu girls married to Muslim boys. The cover page had Kareena's morphed picture that was half covered with a naqab and the other half obscuring a bindi on her forehead and sindoor in her hair, with a caption of “Conversion of nationality through religious conversion”. The diva’s husband actor Saif Ali Khan expressed disapproval of the whole plot and also condemned it.

Controversies regarding ‘Kurbaan’ poster
