After his breakup with Miley Cyrus, Nick dated another Disney star, Selena Gomez, in 2008. After being in a relationship for a few months, they called it quits. In 2015, Gomez told Capital FM, "We were babies. We actually caught up the other day and it's really fun to be able to do that. That, to me, was like puppy love. It was very sweet. He's lovely. I do have a love for him for sure."

Nick dated an older women Delta Goodrem back in 2011. The Australian singer is eight years older than him and they dated for 10 months before parting ways in February 2012. Nick then started seeing actress Kate Hudson, who is 13 years his senior. There were reports of them hooked up. But, other reports stated that they were just hanging out and not dating. In 2016, Nick told Complex that Kate is incredible and they had an unbelievable connection. He further said, "Out of my best effort to respect her and her privacy, I’m not going to say if we had sex or not. But we did have a beautiful connection. Even now I have so much admiration and respect. She’s amazing."
