Comeback film flunked

Before ‘Ishkq in Paris’ (2013), the last time that we saw Preity in a noticeable role was in Karan Johar’s ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’. After that, she disappeared. She invested a good amount of money (approx. 120 million) to produce ‘Ishkq in Paris’, hoping that it would relaunch her acting career. However, it didn’t help. The film flunked at the box office and she didn’t get her Return On Investment either.

Finance gone wrong

Veteran filmmaker Kamal Amrohi's son Shandar Amrohi had allegedly borrowed Rs 2 crore from Preity to fight a legal battle. The industry referred to Shandar as Preity's 'godfather'. No wonder she lent him the money without any second thought. The problem occurred when he passed away and the debt remained unpaid. The Amrohi family didn't respond to Preity's request to pay her back. Following this, she moved to Bombay High Court to recover the money. On this, Tajdaar Amrohi (Shandar's brother) said they'd decide their next move only when the right time comes.

Beau allegedly turned molester

This came out after Preity's break-up with Ness Wadia. In June 2014, she lodged a complaint with the Marine Lines police station that Ness had touched her incorrectly and abused her during an IPL match between Punjab Kings XI and Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai on May 30, 2014. Ness, however, was quoted calling it all false and baseless.

Relationship went for a toss

The two fell in love as they met being co-owners of Kings XI Punjab. They were together for quite a few years until compatibility issues came up and Preity had to call it quits.

Received a call from underworld

Bollywood's relationship with underworld is old and much talked-about. During the filming period of 'Chori Chori Chupke Chupke', she received from a call from an underworld man who apparently told her, "Main bhai ka aadmi Razak bol raha hoon aur mujhe 50 lakh chahiye". While many others would probably have given up to fear, she moved to the sessions court in Mumbai and reported the incident.
