Rewind: Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan’s fairytale love story

The first meeting!

It was love at the first sight for the two! Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan first met at the shoot of a coffee brand called Mr. Coffee. The two featured in a rather sensual advertisement and fell deep in love with each other then and there. Malaika was just 18-year-old at that time. The ad became a sensation and so did their love story. Unfortunately, their advertisement was banned due to it's explicit content but their relationship just grew stronger by each passing day.

The secret crush!

The coffee ad seems to be the first official meeting of Malaika and Arbaaz. But, in one of the interviews, Malaika had revealed that this was not the first encounter she had with Arbaaz. She was quoted saying, "Even before I had shot the MR coffee ad with him, Amu (Amrita Arora) and I had gone clubbing one night when we saw Arbaaz and his friend Sajid Khan DJing. My sister was nuts about Salman, just like all other girls, as he was a big star even then. But for me, when I saw Arbaaz, I told her, 'You girls like Salman right? I like him. He is my kind of guy."

The courtship!

Malaika and Arbaaz' courtship lasted for almost 4 years. Post their coffee ad, the two were spotted together at almost every outing. Be it a party, a dinner or simply at a coffee shop, wherever they would go, the two would give each other the company. Soon their relationship became the talk topic of the town and unlike others, the two had no qualms of accepting their love affair.

The parents conflict of interest!

As we know, Malaika Arora Khan belongs to a catholic family whereas Arbaaz is a Muslim. So, due to the religious different, Malaika's parents were not that happy with this relationship. Malaika was once quoted saying, "My mom would, of course, make me aware every single day that I was in love with a Muslim man from a filmi family, but I was madly in love. I didn't really date anyone till I met him."

The proposal!

Malaika and Arbaaz' relationship had a twist. Rather than Arbaaz popping up the question, it was Malaika who asked Arbaaz to marry him. This is how she proposed saying, "“I think we should move this to the next level. Would you want to go down that road with me?" To this, Arbaaz replied, "Choose the time and place!"

The D-Day!

Malaika and Arbaaz' wedding was like one of the best we have come across till date. They first exchanged vows by a Catholic Ceremony in Church followed by a Nikaah. Then the Khans and Aroras threw a lavish reception party for the couples friends and relatives.

The happy family!

For 17-long years, Malaika and Arbaaz put forth a picture of one happy family. They have stood by each other in their lowest phase while they have enjoyed the pleasure of being proud parents together. They truly made for one terrific couple of B-town and we are highly disappointed that their fairytale love story had such a tragic end!
