‘Pyasa Shaitan’
This was the Hindi version of a Malayalam horror film called 'Vayanadan Thamban'. Kamal Hasaan is seen in a warlock, who seduces virgin women. By sacrificing blood of virgin women, he has lived for more than a century. Sums up why we call it 'funny'!
‘Purani Haveli’
An old monster lives in an older mansion. Another old man traps the monster in a cage. What a mess!
‘Shaitani Ilaaka’
A demon stays is his 'Shaitani Ilaaka', drinks blood of a tribe on every 'Amavasya' night to get stronger. But is scared of a Trishool! *sigh*
‘Bandh Darwaza’
A ghost buried in a coffin resurrects to haunt a girl. Neola, the ghost, looks the same before and after death. LOL!
‘Jaani Dushman’
A groom who spots his soon-to-be bride with her real lover and turns into a monster! This proves, imagination can fly higher than a jet plane.
‘House No. 13’
It is a haunted house where supernatural stuff takes place. One little example. There's a duplicate painting of Mona Lisa on the wall. Poor Mona Lisa gets skin rashes when evil spirit breaks out. Err... What!
‘Papi Gudia’
A little boy is convicted by a doll which carries in it, power of black magic. Unconsciously, the poor boy indulges into crime. He is arrested by the police and his sister is in love with the police officer! Could there be any other combination deadlier than that of horror and romance?
‘Purana Mandir’
There is this haunted haveli in a scary village. A couple stumbles upon this place. While the couple makes out, a funny demon appears. Oh, the zero sense of timing.
Bollywood is often a mine of laughter. We are not talking only about comedy films. Horror films, which are supposed to scare the hell out of us, also turn out ridiculous at times. The over-emphasis on ‘fear factor’ or our bravery; we don’t know what is to be blamed for this! Here are few Bollywood horror films that were way too funny… and not really scary!
