Reportedly, Nana Patekar is the first actor in the Indian Film Industry to ask for a crore to feature in a film. Nana Patekar is a self-proclaimed angry man. He has time and again displayed his ferocious nature. And well, director Vidhu Vinod Chopra once had been on the receiving end of his anger during the filming of 'Parinda.' We remember the incident when Nana Patekar suffered severe burns while shooting the last scene of the film. His injury was so severe that Nana had to quit working for a year in order to recover from those burns. After recovering, he resumed the shooting of the same film as the same shot had to be filmed once again. Being careful this time, Nana had asked the director to not use the rubber solution which had led to a huge fire the previous time. But, Vidhu Vinod Chopra did use it and this irked Nana. He then had a fist fight with Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

When Nana Patekar was a kid his father was duped by his partner following which they suffered financial crisis. Nana was in nineth standard then. In order to support his family he started working. He used to paint movie posters then and earn a monthly salary of rupees 35.

Nana Patekar's real name is Vishwanath Patekar. His father was a small textile businessman and mother was a housewife. Reports suggest that while he was a kid he was mischievous enough to be a headache to his mother. As a punishment, Nana was sent to his aunt's place in Mumbai. But, his mischiefs didn't stop here either. Within a year, his aunt packed his bag and sent him back to Murud, where he was born.

When Sanjay was about to get a parole during his jail term, Nana had expressed that he will never work with Sanjay Dutt. He had said, "I have not worked with him in 22 years of my career, I will not work with him in future too."
