Karisma was offered the female lead role in Anees Bazmee's 'Deewangee' opposite Ajay Devgn and Akshaye Khanna. She refused the offer and the role eventually went to Urmila Matondkar.

Initially, Karisma Kapoor was approached to play the female lead in Asoka, but she opted out due to some reason and finally her sister Kareena Kapoor Khan was casted opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke
'Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke' featuring Ajay Devgan, Madhuri Dixit and Preity Zinta is a love triangle romantic film directed by Deepak Shivdasani. Karisma was approached to essay the lead role but she rejected the offer and the role was finally done by Preity Zinta.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Karisma Kapoor was Karan Johar’s first choice for his mega blockbuster Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. But due to her packed schedule she rejected it and later the role went to Rani Mukerji. Other actresses such as Twinkle Khanna, Tabu, Shilpa Shetty, Urmila Matondkar, Aishwarya Rai, Raveena Tandon were also offered the role but they all turned it down.

Judaai starring Sridevi, Anil Kapoor, and Urmila Matondkar in lead roles was the Seventh highest grossing film of the year 1997. Karisma was first signed for the role but she rejected the offer and later Urmila Matondkar agreed to take over the role.

Karisma also rejected one of the female leads in Rajiv Rai's 'Gupt'. Later, the role was finally done by Manisha Koirala. It was one of the most successful movie that won three Filmfare Awards and was nominated in five other categories.

Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Raakhee, Mamta Kulkarni and Kajol starrer 'Karan Arjun' was the second biggest hit of 1995. Karisma was offered to play one of the female leads in the movie, but she turned it down and the role was finally done by Mamta Kulkarni.
