Unbelievable! These five actors rejected to play Fawad Khan’s character in ‘Kapoor & Sons’

Farhan Akhtar

Shakun Batra, the director of ‘Kapoor and Sons’ has earlier assisted Farhan Akhtar. However, Farhan turned this down too, saying he didn’t see himself in the character.

Aditya Roy Kapur

Aditya Roy Kapur probably didn’t want to let go of his positive and lover-boy image!

Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor is a young yet matured actor. His appearance and age matched well to that of the character played by Fawad. Probably that was why he was approached for it. But playing a gay is too risky for a mainstream actor, is it?

Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan has performed more than exceptional roles in past; including ‘Guzaarish’ where he played a paralyzed magician and ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ where he played a special child. We don’t find a suitable reason why he denied this one!

Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan didn’t agree to do the character either. Whether he didn’t find himself apt for the role or he was simply hesitant to play a homosexual man on-screen, is not clearly known.

Fawad Khan‘s performance in ‘Kapoor & Sons’ was much appreciated one. The film did fair well at the box office and appreciation showered from all corners. However, at the same time, we heard that five of Bollywood’s leading actors refused to play the role of Fawad Khan as it was of a homosexual man who suppresses his orientation, fearing the consequences.
