Aishwarya Rai Bachchan supports Salman Khan

Salman Khan has been appointed as the goodwill ambassador of Indian contingent to the Rio Olympics. The Dabangg Khan’s appointment was greeted with joy by some and criticism by others. If Salim Khan, Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty stood in support, sportsmen like Gautam Gambhir, Milkha Singh and others criticised this move by the Indian Olympic Association. They were of a view that a sportsperson should have been made the brand ambassador rather than the actor.

Coming on the heels of this controversy were reports that Aishwarya has started an online petition against the Khan’s appointment. On closer inspection it was revealed that it was not ‘The Aishwarya Rai’, but just a simple girl.

We now bring some good news for the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ fans. The actor has got support from an unlikely quarter. Aishwarya Rai is of the view that the IOA is right in appointing Salman as the goodwill ambassador for Rio Olympics, she was of an opinion that Khan is doing good for the nation.

Yes, the Bachchan bahu, who was at the launch of Cannes 2016, gave her view on her ex-boyfriend being appointed as the brand ambassador. Aishwarya Rai said, “Well I just have to say that anybody who is doing good to represent the country and anyone who is working or speaking for betterment of whatever occasion, be it sport, be it art or be it music, I think that’s wonderful and that’s what needs to be done.”

We are sure that Salman Khan will be a pleased man to have his ex-standing up for him.
