Ajay Devgn opens up on ‘Shivaay’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ clash

Bollywood is gearing up for the clash between Ajay Devgn’s mega-budget directorial ‘Shivaay’ and Karan Johar’s multi starrer ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.’ The clashing of big releases affect the box office collection of both the films, therefore makers try to avoid it.

This year, the makers of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ and Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ avoided a major clash by shifting the release date, and hence, it was expected by all that Devgn and KJo too will follow suit. Rumours abounded in Bollywood that Ajay is expecting Karan who is his wife Kajol’s best friend to shift the release date of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. Seems like the Filmmaker is not in a mood to do so. KJo is apparently not keen on shifting the release date of his film. His stance has affected his friendship with good friend Kajol too.

Recently at the trailer launch of ‘Shivaay,’ Ajay finally cleared the air on the matter. He said, “There is no pressure or anything. Both films are of different genres. And we have space for both to do well. I have friends there (in ADHM team) that it’s better to avoid the clash and that we shouldn’t arrive together. So now it is their call.”

With these words, Ajay has set the ball in Karan Johar’s court. What will be Karan Johar’s move only time will tell.

‘Shivaay’, starring Ajay Devgn, Sayesha Saigal, Abigail Eames and Erika Kaar, is all set to release on October 28, 2016. Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, Anushka Sharma too is releasing on the same day.
