On Saturday, December 7, Pushpa 2 actor Allu Arjun and the film’s director Sukumar attended a press meet to celebrate the success of the just released film. While celebrating the film’s success – it has become the fastest Indian film to collect Rs 500 Cr globally, the duo also took a moment to acknowledge the tragedy that took place at the film’s premiere on December 4.

Allu Arjun apologises to Pushpa 2 stampede victim’s family
During the press meet held in Hyderabad last evening, ‘Pushpa’ Allu Arjun apologised for the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre that resulted in a female fan losing her life. The ‘Pushpa 2’ actor said, “We are extremely sorry. We genuinely didn’t know what happened. I’ve been doing this for 20 years (going to theatres on opening day); it’s very unfortunate that this happened.”
The actor further clarified that he didn’t leave the screening midway because of the fan’s death, but because management informed him that there was causing a disturbance. Arjun said, “I watched the film and left midway because management told me it was causing issues. We only found out the next day that Revathi had died; I was shocked.”
Revealing why it took him some time to respond to the tragic news, the actor said, “It took me time to respond psychologically… I want to stabilise and come back to the table; it takes me time to process. When we heard what happened, we all blanked out. Sukumar garu became really emotional; all our energies went down.” He continued, “
Not just Allu Arjun, but the film’s director too apologised to the victim’s family. Sukumar said, “My heart is broken due to what happened. I am very sorry for that…I apologise to the family and assure you, we will always support you.”
Allu: We will meet the grieving family
Sharing a video on X a while earlier, Allu Arjun wrote, “Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I want to assure them they are not alone in this pain and will meet the family personally. While respecting their need for space to grieve, I stand committed to extend every possible assistance to help them navigate through this challenging journey.”
Talking about giving the victim’s family Rs 25 Lakh, he added, “The money I’ve given ( Rs 25 lakh) is only a gesture to show we’re there for them. I don’t want to disturb them; I’m giving them their space. I will never be able to help with their loss, but I will meet them once they recover. I’ll help them in whatever way I can.”
