CONFIRMED: Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa to release in two parts

Earlier, there were reports that Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa will release in two parts like Baahubali and Yash’s KGF. Now, it is confirmed that the action-thriller will come in two parts. Yes, you heard it right. As per a report in PTI, Pushpa’s producers Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers said the first part of the movie is slated to release on August 13 and the second installment will release in 2022.

The producers said in their statement on Thursday that the storyline and the characters took on lives of their own and grew to a span that required the movie to be released in two parts. “The excitement we witnessed for ‘Introduction To Pushpa Raj’ was phenomenal and we are determined to take it all to the next level by releasing the film as a duology,” Yerneni and Shankar said in the statement.

They also said that they are blessed to have the top stars, artists, and technicians on board for Pushpa and are looking forward to giving the audience a memorable experience in the theatres through the story. Well, the cumulative budget is said to be a whopping 250-270 crore.

Allu Arjun plays the character of Pushpa Raj, a red sandalwood smuggler. The movie was supposed to release last year, but it got delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic-induced lockdown. The first look of Pushpa was released on Allu Arjun’s birthday, April 8, 2020, as a return gift by the actor. It is a pan-India film that will release in multiple languages-Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi simultaneously.

Directed by Sukumar, the movie also has Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Dhananjay, and Sunil among others.
